The company is seeking a world-class AI Research Engineer to join their team in Milan.
The role involves investigating, assessing, and refining cutting-edge AI models, acting as a bridge between research and production.
Responsibilities include improving the research codebase by advocating for code reuse, implementing best practices, and ensuring reproducibility of experiments.
The engineer will manage large datasets, overseeing acquisition, labeling, and data loaders.

Requirements:

A PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
At least 5 years of proven experience as an AI research engineer, or more than 2 years of experience with a PhD.
Extensive expertise in the fundamentals of deep learning, including model validation, regression, and classification techniques is necessary.
Strong knowledge in at least one of the following fields: NLP, Information Retrieval, Conversational AI, or Computer Vision is required.
Strong Python programming skills and experience are essential.
Knowledge and experience with version control systems, such as Git, are required.
Proficiency in PyTorch is necessary.
Hands-on experience with distributed systems, particularly in on-device algorithm development with a focus on High-Performance Computing (HPC) systems, would be a plus.
A proven record of contributing to AI publications is desirable, showcasing a keen understanding of cutting-edge research.
Good knowledge of one or more MLOps tools would be beneficial.
