Description:

Supabase is seeking an AI Tooling Engineer with strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript to help build and maintain high-quality AI tools and integrations.
The role is fully remote, allowing you to work from anywhere in the world.
You will develop and maintain Supabase's AI tools, including the MCP server and AI assistant in the dashboard.
Responsibilities include centralizing AI logic across products, designing evaluation frameworks to measure AI performance, and creating content and integrations with partners.
You will ensure all libraries and tools are fully battle-tested with comprehensive test coverage, benchmarking, and stress testing.
Writing clear, high-quality documentation and guides is essential.
Collaboration with open-source communities to gather feedback and iterate on improvements is expected.
Staying updated with the latest advancements in the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem is crucial for ensuring compatibility and best practices.

Requirements:

Candidates must have strong experience in JavaScript/TypeScript.
Up-to-date knowledge of AI trends and best practices is required.
Familiarity with Postgres and database best practices is necessary.
Experience with vector databases and embeddings, preferably with pgvector or similar Postgres extensions, is essential.
A strong focus on writing tests with frameworks like Vitest or similar, ensuring high test coverage, is required.
Familiarity with networking concepts such as HTTP, WebSockets, and authentication mechanisms is needed.
Experience working with open-source projects or maintaining developer tools is preferred.
Strong communication skills and a passion for building developer-friendly tools and experiences are essential.
