Remote Application Security Engineer

Description:

• The Application Security Engineer will be embedded within Agile development teams to ensure the security and integrity of applications, systems, and data.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with various teams to integrate security requirements, perform risk assessments, and address security issues throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Conducting threat modeling exercises, planning and executing security testing activities, and assisting in incident response related to application security incidents.
• Promoting security awareness, maintaining security documentation, monitoring security posture, and identifying potential security risks and vulnerabilities.
• Evaluating and recommending security tools, solutions, and technologies aligned with the organization's security goals.

Requirements:

• 1+ years of experience in software development roles with a good understanding of application security.
• Knowledge of web application design best practices, secure software development, and relevant security standards, regulations, and frameworks.
• Experience with SOAP and REST APIs, application security testing engagements, common web application security vulnerabilities, and secure coding principles.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team, strong problem-solving skills, and self-motivated with minimal supervision.
