Remote Application Security Engineer - Moodle US

Description:

• The Application Security Engineer at Moodle US is responsible for identifying and mitigating security weaknesses in the applications developed and deployed within the organization.
• They will be in charge of testing, implementing, and configuring application security controls to ensure the company's applications are secure.
• The engineer will conduct routine testing using industry best practices to detect and address security vulnerabilities and support the development teams in fixing software issues.
• Responsibilities also include composing related policies, guidelines, and procedures for the operational program.
• This role is suitable for a security engineer with 2 to 4 years of experience.

Requirements:

• Strong understanding of software composition and security best practices.
• Proficiency in PHP.
• Experience with Veracode or similar DAST/SAST/DCA tools.
• Familiarity with Jira.
• Experience in software security auditing processes.
• Understanding of agile development processes.
• Knowledge of git and source control.
• Excellent communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, take ownership of the role, and improve security outcomes.
• Strong team player with good organizational skills to manage workload efficiently.
