Description:

Octopus by RTG is seeking an Application Security Engineer to support a grocery delivery startup in Egypt.
The role involves ensuring secure design, development, and deployment of applications by identifying vulnerabilities and performing code and security reviews.
The engineer will collaborate with engineering teams to embed security throughout the software development lifecycle.
Responsibilities include performing application security testing using tools like Burp Suite, SonarQube, or Veracode, and conducting manual and automated code reviews.
The engineer will also participate in threat modeling, security testing, and contribute to the continuous improvement of application security practices and tools.
The position requires staying current on emerging threats and documenting technical security findings.

Requirements:

Candidates should have 0–3 years of experience in application security or related fields.
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or a related field is required.
Basic knowledge of application vulnerabilities and security testing tools is necessary.
Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript is required.
Candidates should be eager to learn and grow in application security.
Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.
A detail-oriented approach with a problem-solving mindset is required.
Preferred certifications include E|CDE, C|ASE, OSWA, eWPT, GWAPT, or similar, though they are not mandatory.
