Description:
The Applications Software Developer (SME) will be responsible for collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze requirements, design solutions, and develop software applications aligned with business objectives.
They will lead the design and architecture of complex software systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Developing clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards is a key responsibility.
Thorough testing and debugging of applications to ensure quality and reliability.
Staying current with emerging technologies and industry trends and incorporating them into the development process.
Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers to foster continuous learning and growth.
Participating in code reviews, team meetings, and project planning sessions for effective collaboration and communication.
Requirements:
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in software development, focusing on application development.
Proficiency in multiple programming languages like Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) such as Eclipse.
Extensive knowledge of software development methodologies like Agile/Scrum.
Strong understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and principles.
Proven track record of delivering high-quality, scalable software solutions on time and within budget.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools (e.g., CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes) is desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
Must be a US Citizen.
Active Public Trust/MBI clearance or the ability to obtain one.
