Description:

The Applied AI Engineer Tech Lead position can be based out of San Francisco, New York, or remotely from various states.
The role involves leading the design, building, and optimization of AI-driven solutions that impact customers and the Modern Treasury platform.
Responsibilities include leveraging machine learning models to create recommendation systems, enhance information retrieval, and advance natural language processing (NLP) in fintech.
The position requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including product managers and software engineers, to transform advanced AI research into practical, scalable products.
A strong background in applied AI research and a passion for solving real-world problems in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Requirements:

A Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or a related quantitative field is required.
Candidates must have 7-10+ years of industry experience in applied machine learning, with a proven track record in recommendation systems, NLP, and information retrieval.
Strong knowledge and hands-on experience in building modern recommendation engines is necessary.
Experience with NLP techniques, including transformer models and language generation, is required.
Proven experience with open-source deep learning models (e.g., BERT, GPT) and scalable training/serving infrastructure (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Kubernetes) is essential.
Proficiency in deploying machine learning models in production environments and familiarity with MLOps best practices is required.
Strong programming skills in Python and experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn) are necessary.
Familiarity with cloud-based AI services (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is preferred.
The ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, founders, and software engineers to develop product-focused AI solutions is essential.
A proven track record of applying research to solve real-world, large-scale problems in production is required.
