Description:

Kira Learning is seeking an Artificial Intelligence Engineer to impact the education of K-12 students by creating curriculum and learning tools.
The role involves writing programs using AI to enhance the student learning experience through features such as autograding coding exercises and providing automated feedback.
The engineer will design and audit Kira Learning’s code review processes to ensure the code base is maintainable, efficient, and well documented.
The position requires ownership of end-to-end product execution, collaborating closely with the UI/UX designer on interaction and visual design.
The engineer will work with the Product and Content teams to ideate, scope, develop, and iterate on products and specific features.
Understanding and prioritizing student and teacher needs to translate them into testable product ideas and features is essential.
This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the US, and candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required.
Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience as an AI engineer, leading software design decisions, managing end-to-end project requirements, and shipping complex products with minimal guidance.
A strong understanding of machine learning algorithms is necessary.
Familiarity and experience with NoSQL databases, particularly MongoDB, is required.
Experience working with AWS is also necessary.
Impeccable attention to detail is a must.
Candidates should have experience leading software engineering projects in a rapidly changing environment.
A strong grasp of frontend web development frameworks, especially React and Next.js, is preferred.
