Description:
The AR/VR Software Engineer will lead the development of applications that redefine how we experience digital content through augmented and virtual reality.
This role involves designing, coding, and optimizing immersive software that combines cutting-edge graphics with smooth interactivity.
The engineer will work closely with designers, product managers, and developers to create visually captivating and responsive immersive experiences.
Key responsibilities include building and implementing AR/VR applications using Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar platforms, developing core functionalities, and creating interactive elements.
The engineer will optimize graphics and performance by working with shaders, lighting, and textures to deliver realistic visuals while ensuring smooth performance on various devices.
They will implement user interaction and input systems, developing robust systems for gesture recognition, eye tracking, and hand controllers.
The role requires integrating AR/VR hardware and sensors, including VR headsets, AR glasses, and mobile devices, to enhance user experience.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams on application features is essential, translating creative ideas into technical solutions that meet design specifications.
The engineer will conduct extensive testing to identify and fix bugs, ensure compatibility across devices, and refine user experience based on feedback.
Staying updated on AR/VR tools and technologies is crucial, as the engineer will research new tools and apply innovative ideas to enhance application quality and performance.
Requirements:
Proficiency in AR/VR development platforms is required, with strong experience in Unity or Unreal Engine, including C# (Unity) or C++ (Unreal Engine).
A solid understanding of 3D graphics and rendering is necessary, including familiarity with shaders, lighting, and visual effects.
Experience with AR/VR hardware and SDKs is essential, including knowledge of ARCore, ARKit, and OpenXR.
Strong problem-solving and debugging skills are required to troubleshoot technical issues and optimize code for compatibility across devices.
An understanding of spatial audio and haptics is important for creating fully immersive experiences.
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, or a related field is required, with equivalent experience in AR/VR software development considered.
Specialized training or certifications in AR/VR development, real-time graphics, or interactive media are advantageous.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in AR/VR software development is required, with a strong portfolio demonstrating interactive, immersive applications.
Familiarity with VR/AR hardware, including Oculus, HTC Vive, HoloLens, and mobile AR devices, is beneficial.
Experience with cross-platform development and performance optimization for AR/VR applications is a plus.
