Description:

Veeva Systems is seeking an aspiring Application Security Engineer to join their Security Engineering team.
The role involves working with product teams to secure applications and has a broad scope, including managing SAST/SCA environments and developing DevSecOps automation services.
Responsibilities include supporting Checkmarx SAST & SCA platform, assisting application product teams with scan automation via pipeline builds, and automating security tools into DevSecOps processes.
The engineer will create best practices, troubleshoot systems, and document processes.
The role requires writing code for data lake and data warehouse collection and transformation processes.
The engineer will maintain security infrastructure, tools, and systems, and integrate security tools through APIs and webhooks.
Conducting full life cycle engagements with business units independently or as part of a team is also part of the job.
The engineer will create and maintain integrated security dashboards that pull data from multiple security systems into a unified view.

Requirements:

A Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience is required.
Candidates must have coding skills in at least one primary language, such as Java or Python and React.
An understanding of security standards such as OWASP Top 10, SANS Top 20, NIST 800-53, CIS, and CSC is necessary.
Experience utilizing Static Application Security Testing tools like Checkmarx to identify and remediate code vulnerabilities is required.
A minimum of 1 year of experience as a security engineer or application developer is needed.
Knowledge in security engineering, infrastructure and network security, authentication, and security is essential.
Familiarity with protocols, cryptography, or application security is required.
Experience with interpreted or compiled languages such as Python, Java, React, Ruby, Perl, PHP, C/C++, or C# is necessary.
Experience with cloud service providers, preferably AWS, Azure, and Alibaba Cloud, is required.
