Description:
Kin is seeking an Associate Data Platform Engineer to join their mission of transforming home insurance.
The Data Platform team is responsible for building the data ingestion, processing, and storage backbone for various teams at Kin.
The role involves developing and supporting infrastructure using data technologies such as Airbyte, Airflow, Databricks, Flink, Fivetran, Redshift, and Terraform.
The successful candidate will need strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in an agile development environment.
Daily responsibilities may include developing infrastructure solutions for growing data volumes, managing AWS infrastructure with Terraform, overseeing Kafka clusters, and implementing monitoring systems.
Requirements:
Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective teamwork.
The candidate must be capable of learning and using new technologies.
Experience with Python and SQL is required.
Familiarity with AWS core components (S3, EC2, IAM, and VPCs) is desired.
Willingness to learn Databricks, Apache Kafka, and DataDog is necessary.
Understanding of data lake architectures is important.
The candidate should be able to work within product definition, requirements, and design phases.
Collaboration with Kin’s Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to gather and develop business requirements is expected.
