Remote Associate Data Platform Engineer

Description:

• Kin is seeking an Associate Data Platform Engineer to join their mission of transforming home insurance.
• The Data Platform team is responsible for building the data ingestion, processing, and storage backbone for various teams at Kin.
• The role involves developing and supporting infrastructure using data technologies such as Airbyte, Airflow, Databricks, Flink, Fivetran, Redshift, and Terraform.
• The successful candidate will need strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in an agile development environment.
• Daily responsibilities may include developing infrastructure solutions for growing data volumes, managing AWS infrastructure with Terraform, overseeing Kafka clusters, and implementing monitoring systems.

Requirements:

• Strong communication and collaboration skills are essential for effective teamwork.
• The candidate must be capable of learning and using new technologies.
• Experience with Python and SQL is required.
• Familiarity with AWS core components (S3, EC2, IAM, and VPCs) is desired.
• Willingness to learn Databricks, Apache Kafka, and DataDog is necessary.
• Understanding of data lake architectures is important.
• The candidate should be able to work within product definition, requirements, and design phases.
• Collaboration with Kin’s Product, Data Science, and Engineering teams to gather and develop business requirements is expected.
