Description:

  • The Associate Principal Engineer will be responsible for understanding the client's business use cases and technical requirements, converting them into technical designs, and mapping decisions with requirements.
  • They will need to identify different solutions, define guidelines for non-functional requirements, and review architecture and design aspects to ensure best practices are followed.
  • The role involves writing and reviewing design documents, developing overall solutions for functional and non-functional requirements, and applying technology integration scenarios in projects.
  • The engineer will also mentor team members, empower them to provide solutions, and create a collaborative work environment.

Requirements:

  • The candidate should have at least 10 years of experience and strong expertise in Vantage Mainframe and Vantage programming languages.
  • Proficiency in mainframe architecture, components, and tools is required, along with experience in mainframe databases like DB2 and IMS.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies, excellent problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are necessary.
  • Knowledge of version control systems like Git or SVN is a plus, and familiarity with Agile development practices is advantageous.
  • Understanding of Japanese customs and business meeting rules is preferred.
  • The candidate should be proficient in communicating technology solutions that align with business objectives, have analytical and critical thinking skills, and be able to manage partnerships effectively.
  • Ability to explore and adapt to new technologies is required.
