Description:
ARETUM is seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Architect to provide technical and operational support for systems hosted in a cloud environment.
This role will involve managing and optimizing virtual machines, configuring secure cloud environments, and ensuring reliable system performance.
The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of AWS services and cloud-based operations, with a focus on scalability, performance optimization, and security compliance.
Responsibilities include providing comprehensive support for AWS-hosted systems, designing and optimizing virtual machines, creating and configuring Docker containers, and monitoring AWS resources for cost-effective operations.
The architect will plan and oversee the creation of new cloud instances, maintain system documentation, monitor performance metrics, and ensure compliance with IT security requirements.
Additional tasks include supporting software installation, planning configuration changes, overseeing backup processes, executing data recovery, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring integration of cloud technologies with existing infrastructure.
The role also involves providing support for cloud-native tools and services, and monitoring system health using AWS CloudWatch.
Requirements:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, with at least 3 years in AWS cloud environments.
Strong expertise in AWS services, including EC2, S3, RDS, CloudFormation, Lambda, and IAM.
Hands-on experience with Docker containers and container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes.
Proven ability to manage large-scale virtual environments, including configuration, monitoring, and optimization.
Proficiency in monitoring tools like AWS CloudWatch, and scripting for automation (e.g., Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
Solid understanding of IT security practices in cloud environments, and familiarity with compliance frameworks like SOC 2, ISO 27001, or NIST.
Experience with system backup strategies, disaster recovery planning, and data restoration.
Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles and tools, such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Excellent documentation and communication skills, focusing on stakeholder engagement and clear reporting.
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; an advanced degree is preferred.
Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance is required, limited to U.S. citizens or lawful permanent residents.
