Description:

The position is for a Senior AWS Cloud Data Engineer/Architect with a focus on Scala/Spark development.
This is a remote contract role with United Airlines, lasting for 1 year.
The candidate must have at least 8 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
Proficiency in Scala, Spark, and Apache Flink streaming is required.
Experience with AWS Cloud Development is essential.
Familiarity with Kafka or other AWS streaming technologies is preferred, with Apache Flink being ideal.
The role involves designing, creating, and maintaining Scala-based data tasks to transform raw data into meaningful data models.
The candidate will participate in all architectural development tasks related to the data pipeline.
Responsibilities include writing code according to data model requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring team members in Scala development.
The role also requires documenting Scala development processes, working with business analysts to understand requirements, testing designs for compliance, debugging technical issues, and making recommendations to existing infrastructure.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8+ years of experience as a Data Engineer.
Proficiency in Scala is mandatory.
Experience with Scala, Spark, and Apache Flink streaming is required.
Knowledge of AWS Cloud Development is essential.
Familiarity with Kafka or other AWS streaming technologies is a plus.
Experience with Python and Pyspark is beneficial.
Java experience and proficiency with ETL architecture are considered advantageous.
The candidate should be capable of building standardized data solutions and have extensive experience with both data streaming and batch solutions, including event-driven and microservices architecture.
