Description:

  • The AWS DevOps Engineer II will automate deployments utilizing custom templates and modules for customer environments on AWS.
  • The role involves architecting AWS environment best practices and deployment methodologies.
  • The engineer will create automation tools and processes to improve day-to-day functions.
  • Educating customers on AWS and Rackspace best practices and architecture is a key responsibility.
  • The position ensures the control, integrity, and accessibility of the cloud environment for the enterprise.
  • The engineer will lead workload/workforce management and optimization related tasks.
  • Mentoring and assisting Rackers across the Cloud Function is expected.
  • The role includes quality checking the development of technical training for all Rackers supporting Rackspace Supported CLOUD Products.
  • Providing technical expertise underpinning communications targeting a range of stakeholders is essential.
  • Collaboration with Account Managers and Business Development Consultants to build strong customer relationships is required.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent degree is required.
  • The candidate must have 5+ years of total IT experience, with at least 4+ years of experience on AWS Cloud and DevOps tools.
  • Associate level Certificates in AWS are required.
  • The candidate should have hands-on experience in Professional Services/Enterprise DevOps/CloudOps, DevSecOps roles.
  • Near expert knowledge of AWS Products & Services, including Compute, Storage, Security, and Networking, is necessary.
  • Proficiency in at least one of the following languages: Python, Linux, or Shell scripting is required.
  • Proficient skills with git and git workflows are mandatory.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows or Linux operating systems is essential.
  • Strong technical skills in multiple functional areas such as Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation/Terraform), container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes), and configuration management (Ansible) are required.
  • Experience in designing, building, implementing, analyzing, migrating, and troubleshooting highly available systems is necessary.
  • Strong knowledge of Continuous Integration tools such as GITLAB is mandatory, with experience in developing CI and CD pipelines.
  • Knowledge of at least one configuration management system such as Chef, Ansible, or Puppet is required.
  • Understanding of services and protocols, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of hosting environments is essential.
  • Strong experience in configuring services, alerts, and instrumentation on AppDynamics and monitoring tools is required.
  • Knowledge of AWS services like VPC, Route 53, EC2, EKS, RDS, API Gateways, Elastic Cache, Dynamo DB, and Lambda is necessary.
  • The candidate should be passionate about technology and have a desire to expand technical knowledge.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, with the ability to communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • The candidate must be able to handle multiple tasks and prioritize work under pressure.
