Remote AWS Engineer

Description:

• We are seeking a skilled AWS DevOps Engineer with a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure, automation, and modern DevOps practices.
• The position is fully remote within the US and is a long-term contract lasting over 5 years.
• The role can be filled on a W2 or 1099 basis.
• Key responsibilities include designing, implementing, and managing scalable AWS infrastructure.
• The engineer will build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, preferably using GitHub Actions.
• The role requires using Infrastructure as Code, with a preference for AWS CDK.
• The engineer will manage and optimize containerized environments using Docker.
• The position involves maintaining and administering Linux-based systems.
• The engineer will write efficient Python scripts for automation and tooling, but not for application development.
• Collaboration with developers, architects, and QA teams is essential to streamline deployment processes and improve system reliability.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in AWS DevOps roles.
• Strong expertise in Docker and Linux administration is required.
• Proven experience with CI/CD pipelines is necessary, with a preference for GitHub Actions.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code is required, with a preference for AWS CDK.
• Candidates must be able to write clear, functional Python scripts for infrastructure automation.
• A strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, monitoring, and security best practices is essential.
• Preferred experience includes familiarity with AWS services such as ECS, ECR, secret manager, parameter store, SQS, and EventBridge.
