Remote AWS Infrastructure Engineer

Description:

• We’re looking for a part-time AWS Infrastructure Engineer to maintain and monitor our existing cloud infrastructure.
• This role is ideal for someone who can troubleshoot issues, make necessary adjustments, and ensure uptime, but doesn’t need to be actively engaged full-time.
• Work will vary week to week, so we prefer an hourly-based engagement.
• Responsibilities include monitoring and maintaining AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
• The engineer will manage ECS instances, RDS databases, and S3 buckets, making adjustments when needed.
• Troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues is a key part of the role.
• The engineer will oversee integrations with GitHub Actions, Datadog, and other third-party services.
• Implementing configuration changes only when necessary to optimize system performance is also required.

Requirements:

• Strong experience managing AWS infrastructure, particularly ECS, RDS, and S3, is required.
• The candidate must have the ability to diagnose and resolve cloud infrastructure issues.
• Familiarity with GitHub Actions, Datadog, and third-party service integrations is necessary.
• Experience with cloud security best practices is essential.
• The candidate must be available for occasional work as needed, as some weeks may have little to no tasks.

Benefits:

• An hourly rate is preferred, as workload will vary.
• The estimated budget for compensation is $800–$1,000 per month, depending on actual hours worked.
