Description:
This is a remote, contract position for an Azure Data Solution Architect responsible for translating functional and non-functional requirements in data and analytics into a solution design.
The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and data models to support business objectives.
The architect will serve as a subject matter expert on Azure Cloud solutions and collaborate with cross-functional teams on solution design.
The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Agile, Python, SQL, Pyspark, and Azure cloud-based large scale data applications.
Responsibilities include driving architectural discussions, requirement analysis, and ensuring alignment with target architectures and standards.
The position requires hands-on coding and collaboration with multi-disciplined teams to achieve project objectives.
The architect will oversee data architecture projects, ensuring they are completed on time and meet business requirements.
The role also involves developing and implementing data strategies that align with the organization's overall business strategy.
Requirements:
A full-time Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a similar field from an accredited university is required.
A minimum of 5 years of industry experience with large-scale data and analytics solutions is necessary.
Proven experience in data architecture, ETL development, and database management for at least 5 years is required.
At least 3 years of experience working with Azure cloud services, with strong proficiency in SQL, database design, and optimization techniques is essential.
Strong experience in collaborating with product owners and onsite teams to translate business needs into data solutions is required.
Proven experience in designing and implementing large-scale data solutions in Azure, including ETL/ELT tools and frameworks using Azure Data Factory.
A minimum of 5 years of experience with DevOps tools and technologies, including GitHub or Azure DevOps, is necessary.
Preferred certifications include Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals, Azure Data Engineer Associate, and Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
Strong programming skills in Python and advanced SQL query writing, along with a deep understanding of data architecture concepts, are required.
Experience in designing and implementing data warehousing, data lake, and data lake house solutions in Azure is essential.
