Description:

As a Backend Developer, you will be responsible for creating, maintaining, and optimizing databases, APIs, and essential development to ensure the smooth flow of data to key stakeholders.
Your primary duties will include enhancing the reliability and performance of databases, reporting scripts, and API integrations.
You will manage the day-to-day performance and reliability of databases and services that provide data to key stakeholders.
Building services to integrate new data from various partners in different formats such as CSVs and REST APIs.
Constantly seeking opportunities to enhance the codebase, develop tools, and automate processes to increase efficiency for yourself and your team.

The candidate will work with scripts currently written in PHP but can use any language they are comfortable with, preferably Python or NodeJS.
Knowledge of database setup and maintenance of APIs that input data into the database(s) is required.

Requirements:

Experience in database development and performance tuning.
Proficiency with REST APIs and ETL.
Proficiency in scripting with PHP, and familiarity with NodeJS would be advantageous.
Familiarity with GIT.
Strong analytical skills with great attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or IT.
