Remote Back End Developer (Ruby)

Description:

• The Back End Developer (Ruby) position at Sensor Tower involves efficiently scaling database operations and supporting the growing amount of data, which can reach tens of terabytes.
• Engineers in this role are expected to gather meaningful data and insights to ensure the best possible products and features are built to support users.
• Responsibilities include participating in the full development life cycle, from design to implementation, quality polish, and release.
• The role also involves working on full feature implementation from the front end to the API and back end, as well as developing and optimizing high-performance data aggregation and analysis pipelines at scale.
• Code reviews, suggesting improvements to tools and processes, and collaborating with the team are essential aspects of this position.

Requirements:

• 3+ years of experience as a software engineer.
• Demonstrated meaningful GitHub contributions and other coding samples.
• Strong foundation in programming, algorithms, and software application design.
• Solid understanding of RESTful systems and principles of good API design.
• Knowledge of cloud environments, with exposure to AWS being an advantage.
• Proficiency in Ruby on Rails (or Python with a willingness to learn Ruby on Rails).
• Nice to have skills include familiarity with Clickhouse, MongoDB, Sidekiq, TypeScript, React.js, and ES6.
