Description:

As a Backend Engineer, you will be a vital member of the delivery team focused on building and maintaining scalable backend services for the Peerspace platform.
You will primarily work in Clojure to develop new services and support existing systems, with occasional maintenance of legacy applications and services in Node.
The role involves collaborating closely with other engineers, product management, and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure a robust and reliable cloud-based, service-oriented architecture.
You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining backend services, assisting in the maintenance of legacy Node.js services, and collaborating on cloud deployments.
Requirements:
You should have 3-5 years of experience in software development, with hands-on experience in backend engineering.
Proficiency in Clojure for developing and maintaining backend services is required.
Familiarity with Node.js is necessary, especially for supporting legacy services.
A solid understanding of service-oriented architectures and RESTful API design is essential.
Experience working in cloud environments and using modern development tooling is expected.
Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools and practices is preferred.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to debug and optimize backend systems are necessary.
You must have the ability to work effectively with senior engineers and cross-functional teams, contributing to collective problem-solving and continuous improvement.
A growth mindset and enthusiasm for learning new tools and techniques in cloud deployment, automation, and backend development are important.
