Udacity is seeking backend software engineers to support the content creation process.
The role involves developing internal tools that enable content creators to produce high-quality educational materials efficiently.
Responsibilities include developing, testing, and maintaining scalable backend services and APIs for internal tools.
The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design solutions.
The position requires optimizing existing systems for performance and reliability.
The engineer will implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment.
Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to internal tools is also part of the role.

Requirements:

Candidates should have 3-5 years of professional software engineering experience in a product-oriented role with live production code.
A strong background in building scalable and low latency systems is required.
Demonstrated expertise in designing, building, delivering, and maintaining production-quality microservices is essential.
While specific languages or frameworks are not prioritized, familiarity with React, Node, Graphql, GoLang, Postgresql, Python, and web protocols is important.
Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and GCP is considered a plus.
Candidates must be able to thrive in a fast-moving environment.
A passion for enhancing user experience in online education is highly valued.
