Description:
The Krazy Coupon Lady (KCL) is seeking a Back-End Software Engineer to be responsible for coding, systems design implementation, reliability, and scalability of backend applications and databases serving millions of users daily.
The role involves primarily developing using Typescript & NodeJS, with occasional requirements for Python, Bash, and Go.
The position is full-time and remote, with a Monday-Friday work week.
Responsibilities include building and developing maintainable, performant, and secure code, collaborating with technical teams and stakeholders, writing and maintaining tests, addressing production issues, and staying updated on industry trends.
The engineer will translate design requirements into high-quality code, participate in code and design reviews, be part of the on-call rotation for technical support, and contribute to the performance management and review process.
Documentation writing and sharing knowledge with the team are also key responsibilities.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a full-stack or backend engineering role.
Strong problem-solving abilities and application development skills.
Excellent communication and writing skills.
Proficiency in Javascript, C#, Java, or another object-oriented language for at least 5 years.
3+ years of experience with Node JS, with a preference for experience in writing Typescript.
Knowledge of Rest API development using Node JS and frameworks like Express.
Familiarity with Amazon Web Services technologies and general cloud offerings.
Experience with code versioning systems like GIT, unit testing using Jest, Docker or container technologies, and databases such as SQL (Postgres), MongoDB, and Redis.
Working knowledge of continuous integration, continuous delivery technology, Agile/Scrum methodologies, and experience in a Mac/*unix environment.
