Description:

The position is for a Backend Architect, handled as a contract-to-hire, located in LATAM and allows for remote work.
The Backend Architect will collaborate with NGO and academic partners to develop and support EarthRanger, a software solution for wildlife conservation.
The role involves designing, building, and deploying innovative products that have a global impact.
The candidate will work closely with multiple development teams and external partners to strategize and design solutions to complex problems.
EarthRanger integrates real-time data from over 100 hardware sensors and provides visibility and analysis of conservation activities across various landscapes and seascapes.
More than 350 conservation organizations currently use EarthRanger, including national parks and species-specific conservation programs.

Requirements:

The candidate must have 8+ years of software development experience.
They should be an experienced software development architect and engineer with a strong agile background.
The candidate must be proficient in Python with at least 4 years of experience developing applications and services (Version 3.8 and above).
Technical experience should include building and deploying SaaS applications at scale using the Django Web Framework and major data storage engines like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Redis.
The candidate must have experience in designing and implementing REST-based APIs and real-time systems architecture using tools like Airflow.
They should have demonstrated expertise in securing applications at all levels and experience delivering solutions on Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure (Google Cloud preferred).
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent is required.
The candidate must possess strong problem-solving skills, the ability to analyze quantitatively, and effectively prioritize program deliverables.
