Remote Backend Developer

Description:

• Lead the development team in creating and maintaining full-stack web applications
• Collaborate with developers and project managers to ensure integrated product approach
• Define and implement web services and application backend microservices
• Assist with web UI/UX development and integration of user-facing elements
• Build efficient, testable, and reusable PHP modules
• Solve performance problems and architectural challenges
• Provide input on scalable application design and deployment
• Maintain code quality, organization, and automatization
• Support services in production and troubleshoot software and databases
• Conduct code reviews, deployment, and write technical documentation

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of PHP experience
• 4+ years of web/app development experience
• 2+ years of experience as a senior or lead developer
• Strong knowledge of Laravel web framework and WordPress core
• Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL, Apache, Linux, JavaScript, and JQuery
• Ability to write quality OOP code and follow development standards
• Understanding of accessibility, security compliance, and common PHP exploits
• Proficiency in front-end technologies like Bootstrap, HTML5, Sass, and CSS3
• Experience with webhooks, REST API integrations, and API connector applications
• Familiarity with team collaboration tools like Asana, Jira, and Slack
• Proficient in code versioning tools like Git and server setup/administration (AWS, Linode)
• Fluency in English (written and oral)
• Self-driven, able to work independently, excel in a fast-paced environment
