Remote Backend Developer

Description:

• The company, Athennian, is seeking a Backend Developer to join their Data Migration Team.
• The role involves playing a crucial part in ensuring the smooth transition and transformation of client data.
• Responsibilities include developing and maintaining migration scripts for transferring data from legacy systems to new platforms.
• The position requires working closely with clients' data using SQL, preparing detailed reports on data anomalies, and validating migrated data using MongoDB.
• Other tasks include data manipulation, transformation, database management, and problem-solving.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for onboarding customers, maintaining and improving data migration tools, and assisting the Onboarding Team with data migration tasks.
• The role also involves working with the Data Migration team to manually verify data migration testing rounds.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience as a professional software engineer working on web applications.
• Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL and SQlite, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB.
• Comfortable using Linux-based CLI and knowledge of backend technologies like NodeJS + Express.
• Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment, with a technical curiosity and desire for continuous learning.
• Active listening skills and respect for others' opinions and ideas.
• Nice to have: Experience with a JavaScript framework like Angular, knowledge of TypeScript, experience with AWS technologies (EC2, S3), and familiarity with RESTful APIs.
