Remote Backend Developer (Java) at Definity First

Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Backend Developer to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have strong Java expertise, experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and cloud services.
This is a remote position open to candidates from any part of LATAM.
The main activities include developing, testing, and maintaining backend systems using Java and Spring Boot, designing and implementing RESTful APIs, collaborating with frontend developers, working with cloud platforms, managing relational databases, utilizing version control systems, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting, and optionally managing deployment pipelines.

Candidates must have 3+ years of experience in roles as a Backend Developer.
Java expertise is required, with a minimum version of 8.
Strong experience with Spring Boot (versions 2.5 - 3) is necessary.
A solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles is essential.
Experience in building and consuming REST APIs is required.
Knowledge of cloud services, particularly Azure, or other providers like AWS or Google Cloud, is necessary.
Proficiency with relational databases, specifically SQL Server or MySQL, is required.
Experience with GitHub for version control is necessary.
English proficiency at a conversational level is required.
Desirable qualifications include experience with Snowflake and familiarity with Azure DevOps.
A graduate from an accredited software engineering Bootcamp or a four-year university with a Computer Science/Information Technology Bachelor's Degree is required.
