Remote Backend Engineer

Description:

• The company Rye offers a set of commerce APIs for developers to profit from selling products without dealing with inventory ownership or order fulfillment.
• The backend engineer will work on eCommerce systems, tracking orders, order placement, returns, and inventory and search.
• Responsibilities include developing features to integrate with platforms like Amazon, Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce, building high-quality APIs, setting up new infrastructure, and writing developer documentation.
• The role involves working independently in a remote team and coordinating features across team members and systems.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of backend engineering experience, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Experience with GraphQL API and gRPC backend system.
• Strong understanding of software engineering best practices and API development.
• Interest in working with customers and providing technical documentation.
• Excellent communication skills, growth mindset, ability to work independently under tight timelines.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce.
