Remote Backend Engineer

Description:

• Artisan is creating AI Employees, called Artisans, and software that is sleek and easy to use, aimed at replacing numerous point solutions.
• The company is focused on outbound sales, starting with their AI BDR, Ava, which integrates various tools needed for outbound sales, including B2B data and AI email sequences.
• Artisan is experiencing rapid growth, closing $xM in new ARR each month, and has recently raised a $12M seed round from top investors.
• The Backend Engineer will drive the design and implementation of foundational platforms and systems to develop tools that integrate with Artisans.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features, developing containerized applications using Docker, and setting up and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• The role also involves proactively identifying opportunities for improvements in programming practices and presenting technical information to teams and stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 3+ years of full-time engineering experience, post-graduation, with a focus on back-end systems.
• Extensive experience in software development and a deep understanding of distributed systems and public cloud platforms, preferably AWS, is required.
• A proven track record of independent ownership of successful engineering projects is essential.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary, along with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience with standard containerization and deployment technologies is a must.
• Candidates should have experience with NoSQL and structured databases.
• Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices and CI/CD tooling is required.
