Description:

We are seeking our first Backend Engineer at Parable to build a product that transforms how companies understand and use their time.
This role offers the opportunity to shape our technical architecture from the ground up, collaborating directly with our CTO, Data, and AI teams.
The ideal candidate is passionate about building elegant, scalable systems and has extensive experience in backend infrastructure.
Responsibilities include designing and maintaining scalable data pipelines, developing robust data models, and building high-performance data services.
The engineer will tackle challenges related to normalizing and linking semi-structured data, ensuring data quality and accessibility.
Collaboration with AI engineers and data scientists is essential to optimize data for model training and inference.
In the first three months, the engineer will work on building core data transformation pipelines, implementing services, creating API integrations, and optimizing data flows based on customer feedback.

Requirements:

Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in building backend services, focusing on data transformation, modeling, and integration, preferably in AI/ML workflows.
A solid understanding of building scalable, reliable, and maintainable web services is required.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, Scala, Rust, or Typescript is necessary.
Experience with database concepts, including SQL, NoSQL, graph databases, and time series databases, is essential.
Familiarity with data processing tools and libraries like Spark and containerization technologies is required.
Proven experience in connecting to and working with various APIs, including SaaS APIs (REST, GraphQL), is necessary.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
