Description:
Rye is a seed-stage startup focused on building APIs for eCommerce, integrating with platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce.

The role is for a Senior / Staff Backend Engineer to join a remote-first team, primarily located in the PST timezone.
Responsibilities include developing new services, establishing infrastructure on GCP, writing high-quality documentation, and delivering large projects end to end.
The engineer will coordinate features across teams, ensuring fast iterative product development with one-week sprints.
Proactive communication of updates and the ability to work independently are essential.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of experience in backend engineering.
Proficiency in Golang and Node.js is required.
Experience in building systems with a GraphQL API and a gRPC backend system is necessary.
A strong understanding of best practices in software development and engineering is expected.
Experience working with external platforms like Shopify, WooCommerce, and BigCommerce is essential.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently are required.
Good technical writing skills are necessary.
