Description:

  • Updater, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to join the Platform team within the MoveHQ division.
  • This entry to mid-level role is ideal for a professional with 1-3 years of backend development experience.
  • The position involves managing interactions with third-party systems, including authentication and authorization processes.
  • You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the one-stack system for account and user management.
  • Responsibilities include developing and maintaining system features, supporting software quality and performance, collaborating on technical implementations, participating in mentorship, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements:

  • You must have 1-3 years of backend web development experience, with proficiency in either Ruby on Rails or PHP (Laravel).
  • A proven track record in developing and maintaining high-quality systems is required.
  • Familiarity with relational databases and experience with ORM systems is necessary.
  • You should be knowledgeable in test development and familiar with testing frameworks such as Cypress or Selenium.
  • Awareness of agile development practices and tools such as Scrum and Jira is essential.
  • Some experience with continuous integration and delivery practices using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions is expected.
  • Good communication skills are required to engage effectively with team members and collaborate across departments.
  • Exposure to developing software in regulated environments is a plus but not a prerequisite.
