Description:
Updater, Inc. is seeking a dedicated Software Engineer to join the Platform team within the MoveHQ division.
This entry to mid-level role is ideal for a professional with 1-3 years of backend development experience.
The position involves managing interactions with third-party systems, including authentication and authorization processes.
You will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the one-stack system for account and user management.
Responsibilities include developing and maintaining system features, supporting software quality and performance, collaborating on technical implementations, participating in mentorship, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines.
Requirements:
You must have 1-3 years of backend web development experience, with proficiency in either Ruby on Rails or PHP (Laravel).
A proven track record in developing and maintaining high-quality systems is required.
Familiarity with relational databases and experience with ORM systems is necessary.
You should be knowledgeable in test development and familiar with testing frameworks such as Cypress or Selenium.
Awareness of agile development practices and tools such as Scrum and Jira is essential.
Some experience with continuous integration and delivery practices using tools like Jenkins, CircleCI, or GitHub Actions is expected.
Good communication skills are required to engage effectively with team members and collaborate across departments.
Exposure to developing software in regulated environments is a plus but not a prerequisite.
