Remote Backend Engineer

Description:

• Midnite is seeking a Backend Engineer to join their team, responsible for contributing to building APIs for mobile and web applications.
• The role involves writing maintainable and efficient code, adhering to project timelines, and shipping to production from week one.
• The tech stack primarily consists of Python and is hosted on AWS, utilizing technologies like Flask, Pytest, Mypy, Docker, PostgreSQL, SQS, S3, and Terraform.
• Collaboration with product, design, front-end development, and trading experts is essential, with mentorship from senior engineers to support skill development and growth within the team.

Requirements:

• The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of professional coding experience in a dynamic or strongly typed language, with a preference for Python.
• Ability to take ownership of projects from design through deployment and maintenance, ensuring high-quality deliverables.
• Participation in all phases of the development lifecycle, including design, development, testing, and maintenance of software products.
• Willingness to engage in code reviews, provide and receive constructive feedback, and maintain a high standard of code quality across the team.
• Proactive in learning about industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance skills and team capabilities.
• Collaboration with external partners and vendors to integrate their products into Midnite's systems, managing these integrations with support from senior engineers when needed.
