Remote Backend Engineer

Description:

• Ethena Labs is seeking a Backend Engineer to work on globally remote incubated expansion projects like Ethena Exchange.
• The team is focused on building the first ETH-based yield-bearing synthetic dollar, sUSDe, with the guidance of founding advisor Arthur Hayes.
• Responsibilities include designing, building, and scaling integrations between decentralized systems, developing high-performance REST & WebSocket APIs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver products.
• The goal is to create a crypto-native synthetic dollar independent of traditional banking infrastructure, forming part of a broader ecosystem of financial products.

Requirements:

• Candidates should have at least 5 years of full-time development experience and possess strong general engineering skills to write maintainable code in a complex codebase.
• Proficiency or willingness to learn JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Kafka, Express, WebSockets, and Docker is required.
• Experience in building blockchain applications and smart contracts is preferred.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is essential for effective communication within the team.
