Description:
Oddball is seeking a Backend Engineer to contribute to a significant Federal program that positively impacts millions of Americans' daily lives.
The role involves collaborating with other engineers to develop and scale a major application.
Daily responsibilities include writing code, developing tests, and debugging.
The engineer will provide input on high-level architecture decisions and communicate these decisions to the development team.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 2+ years of experience working with PHP and WordPress.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in an Agile software development environment is required.
Proficiency in a major open-source programming language such as Ruby, Python, Go, Java, or JavaScript is necessary.
A solid understanding of fundamental web technologies including HTTP, SSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON is essential.
Experience with a front-end JavaScript framework (like Angular, React, or Backbone) is required.
Candidates should have extensive experience in taking program requirements and creating an architectural vision, particularly in high volume and high availability networks and systems.
Experience in creating and conveying architectural visions to team members is necessary.
The ability to build APIs that support both digital services and third-party usage is required.
Candidates must use unit and integration testing to ensure systems meet business needs.
The ability to write clear and understandable code for other engineers is essential.
Experience with all phases of the software development lifecycle, from gathering and analyzing user/business system requirements to creating application system models, is required.
Participation in design meetings and consulting with project teams to refine, test, and debug programs is necessary.
Experience with Amazon Web Services, particularly EC2, S3, and RDS, is preferred.
Candidates must be US Citizens and able to work domestically.
The ability to attain low-level security clearance is required.
A Bachelor's Degree is necessary.
