Description:

ClickUp is seeking a Backend Engineer to join the Hierarchy Squad in Bulgaria.
The role involves building and optimizing tier 1 services that are central to ClickUp’s productivity platform.
The engineer will work on the ClickUp filesystem, which is foundational for all engineering efforts at ClickUp.
Responsibilities include building features and systems with a focus on detail and performance, owning end-to-end development from conception to production, and collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders to deliver a world-class product.
The engineer will also identify and implement improvements to existing systems and help establish a positive engineering culture.

Requirements:

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field is required.
Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in engineering performant and high-throughput systems, preferably using Node.js.
Proficiency in writing high-quality code, ideally in TypeScript, is essential.
A proven track record of building performant, high-throughput systems is necessary.
Experience in writing and debugging SQL queries at scale is required.
Candidates should have experience developing event-based systems.
Familiarity with major cloud services, particularly AWS, is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to empathize with others are important.
Candidates should be comfortable with ambiguity and have a history of delivering projects with minimal direction.
A product-minded approach and a good intuition for user experience are essential.
