Description:
PostHog is seeking a Backend Engineer to help increase the number of successful products in the world.
The position is fully remote, with a team distributed between GMT-8 and GMT+2 time zones.
The engineer will be responsible for capturing data, processing it reliably at very high scale, and building a workflow/delivery engine.
The company processes tens of billions of events a month and uses a mixture of TypeScript/Node and Rust for high-throughput processing.
The role involves making high-level architecture decisions and optimizing parts of the pipeline to increase throughput.
The engineer will also work directly with customers to help them send data to third parties.
Requirements:
Candidates must have experience with either TypeScript/Node or Rust and be comfortable working in both.
Experience in building systems that handle high volumes of requests/data is required.
The ability to quickly choose a sensible architecture and ship it faster than others is essential.
It is a plus if the candidate has experience carrying a pager and dealing with incidents.
