Description:

  • OpenTable, part of Booking Holdings, Inc., is seeking a Backend Engineer II to join their team in India.
  • The role involves working on software development with a focus on clean code and engineering principles to deliver creative products through rapid development.
  • The engineer will be part of a global network that includes OpenTable and KAYAK's portfolio of travel brands.
  • The position requires a passion for technology, a love for coding, and a dedication to finding better ways to do things.
  • The engineer will be responsible for participating in technical and architectural decisions to ensure platforms are scalable, reliable, and high-performing.
  • The role includes working on a secure identity and access platform for restaurants globally and delivering tooling for enterprise customers.
  • The engineer will collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers in an agile-based methodology.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in backend software engineering building distributed applications.
  • Expertise in Java, Spring framework, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Experience with large-scale, distributed, service-oriented, and event-driven architectures and systems.
  • Understanding of observability, monitoring, performance, high availability, scalability, reliability, and security principles.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and Git.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience with unit, integration, and acceptance testing.
  • Experience working in an agile-based methodology.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to mentor and be mentored.
  • Experience collaborating with remote teams and working with an Identity provider.
  • Prior experience in the identity, access, and security domain.
