Description:
Spotify’s Trust & Safety team is looking for a mid-level to experienced Backend Engineer to enhance the core infrastructure for identifying and managing harmful content on the platform.
The role involves designing and implementing robust backend solutions to improve the accuracy, speed, and efficiency of Trust & Safety operations.
Responsibilities include developing APIs and integrations with third-party services to provide critical data for Trust & Safety specialists, facilitating efficient decision-making.
The engineer will collaborate with operational teams to create compliant, secure, and trustworthy tools supported by strong data tracking pipelines.
The position also entails productionizing intelligent workflows with data scientists, automating complex decision-making processes, and surfacing machine learning-based leads for review.
The engineer will promote and implement Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) methodologies to ensure smooth deployments, monitoring, and quick incident resolution.
Requirements:
A BS/MS in Computer Science or a related field is required, with at least 4 years of relevant experience post-bachelor's or 2 years post-master's graduation.
Proficiency in Java, Python, and/or Scala is necessary, along with a willingness to learn other programming languages.
Experience with SaaS infrastructure, cloud-based environments, Kubernetes, and Docker is required.
A passion for learning, experimenting, and scaling with new technologies is essential, as is the ability to adapt quickly.
Candidates should have experience working with distributed systems and designing highly scalable systems across various projects.
Comfort in designing tools in ambiguous environments and collaborating with multi-functional teams to define deliverable requirements is important.
The ideal candidate should be excited about solving loosely defined problems and thrive in a team with autonomy in decision-making.
