As a Backend Engineer, you will join the Java team to redesign significant parts of Zowie’s architecture, specifically building a low-latency central message delivery platform.
The role involves connecting Zowie with various channels like Facebook and WhatsApp, emphasizing system design with reliability, performance, and extensibility.
You will have the opportunity to work with technologies such as speech to text and text to speech, and engage with functional programming by occasionally writing Scala code.
Zowie operates a sophisticated system of over 100 microservices, primarily in Scala and Java, utilizing gRPC for synchronous communication, Kafka for asynchronous calls, and databases like PostgreSQL, Mongo, ElasticSearch, and Redis.

Requirements:

You must possess excellent coding skills and a passion for growing your expertise.
Strong experience with JVM languages is required.
Excellent knowledge of SQL and relational databases is essential.
Strong communication skills are necessary to explain complex technical issues in simple terms.
You should have excellent system design skills to choose appropriate technologies and architectures.
Experience with distributed systems is required.
A product-oriented mindset with ownership and focus on delivering value to customers is essential.
Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Polish is required.

The salary range for this position is between 15,000 zł and 25,000 zł a month.
