Description:

Help Scout is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Java and Kotlin to join their remote team.
The role involves building AI-enabled software applications and APIs against highly scalable systems to enhance customer productivity and service.
The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team of about 50 engineers, project managers, and designers.
Responsibilities include making key decisions on implementation, testing, backlog prioritization, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
The position requires participation in an iterative software approach, focusing on remote, agile development and autonomous work.
The engineer will provide support focusing on performance, security, and usability to ensure a positive customer experience.
The role includes partnering with the Talent team to assist in hiring future team members when necessary.

Help Scout offers a competitive salary range of $126,000-$147,000 based on a competency-based approach.
