Description:

Help Scout is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Java and Kotlin to join their remote team.
The role involves building AI-enabled software applications and APIs against highly scalable systems to enhance customer productivity and service.
The engineer will collaborate with a diverse team of about 50 people, including JVM, JavaScript, and PHP Engineers, project and product managers, and designers.
Responsibilities include making key decisions on implementation, testing, backlog prioritization, code reviews, and architectural decisions.
The engineer will participate in an iterative software approach, focusing on remote, agile development and autonomous work in a trust-based environment.
The role requires making data-driven improvements to systems and quantitatively measuring success.
The engineer will provide support focusing on performance, security, and usability to ensure a magical customer experience.
The position involves working closely with the product team and founders to create impactful solutions for businesses globally.
The engineer will also assist the Talent team in hiring future team members when necessary.

Requirements:

Help Scout offers a competitive salary range of $126,000-$147,000 based on national market data and a competency-based approach.
