Remote Backend Engineer (Node.js/Java)

Description:

• LivePerson is seeking an experienced professional to join the Conversational Cloud Integration team as a Software Development Engineer.
• The role involves developing strategic products and solutions for integrating customer conversations into the LiveEngage platform for servicing and monitoring.

• Responsibilities include defining detailed technical requirements, designing and implementing robust back-end services, driving the adoption of new technologies, assessing the impact of new features, and supporting team members globally.
• The ideal candidate should be an expert in designing and building distributed systems with a microservices architecture, collecting requirements, and working with DevOps teams for infrastructure tuning.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience as a full-time software developer in Java and/or Node.js.
• A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science is required.
• Proficiency in at least one frontend development framework, preferably Vue.js, is necessary.
• Experience with unit and integration testing, restful API development, and working in an Agile/Scrum environment using collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence is essential.
• Strong communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills are required.
• Candidates should have the ability to learn new and emerging technologies, familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Kibana), Kubernetes, Docker, and cloud services, particularly GCP.
• Willingness to participate in paid on-call duty approximately once per month is expected.
• A strong sense of quality, personal responsibility, and a passion for development is essential.
