Remote Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

Description:

• Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating worldwide hiring for businesses.
• The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to develop new features, APIs, and enhance existing products.
• Responsibilities include participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, ensuring a white-glove experience for customers, and contributing to all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, expert knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript syntax, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries like Sequelize, and AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS.
• Desired qualities include excelling in application design, coding, testing, and maintenance, thriving in a remote-first work culture, embracing independence, taking ownership of projects, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Extra brownie points for experience with SaaS products on major cloud vendors, serverless app architecture on AWS, TypeScript, distributed teams, and FinTech knowledge.

Requirements:

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
• Proficiency in JavaScript syntax.
• Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
• Familiarity with AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS.
• Ability to excel in collaborative, remote-first work culture.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in diverse teams.
• Business-focused approach to software development.
• Deep understanding and addressing of customer impact.
• Experience with SaaS products, serverless app architecture, TypeScript, distributed teams, and FinTech is a plus.
