Description:

  • Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating businesses in hiring globally.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to develop new features, API’s, and enhance existing products.
  • Responsibilities include participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, ensuring a white-glove experience for customers, and contributing to all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer and expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries like Sequelize, and AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS.
  • The role involves designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications, thriving in a remote-first work culture, embracing independence, taking ownership of projects, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Extra brownie points are awarded for experience with SaaS products, serverless app architecture on AWS, working in distributed teams, and knowledge of FinTech.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript syntax.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
  • Familiarity with AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS; knowledge of GCP or Azure is a plus.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
