Description:

  • Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating global hiring processes for businesses.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to develop and enhance features, APIs, and products.
  • Responsibilities include participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, contributing to all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, and ensuring a top-notch customer experience.
  • The ideal candidate will have expertise in Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), and AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS).
  • A minimum of 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer is required.
  • Desired qualities include excelling in application design, coding, testing, and maintenance, thriving in a remote-first work culture, embracing independence while excelling in teamwork, and effectively communicating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Additional brownie points for experience with SaaS products on major cloud vendors, serverless app architecture on AWS, distributed teams, and FinTech knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript syntax.
  • Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL (especially PostgreSQL and ORM libraries like Sequelize), and AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS).
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
