Description:
Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating businesses in hiring globally.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to contribute to product planning, development, and deployment stages.
Responsibilities include developing new features, API’s, improving products, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, expert knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript syntax, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries like Sequelize, and AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS).
Desired qualities include proficiency in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications, thriving in a remote-first work culture, embracing independence, taking ownership of projects, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Additional brownie points for experience with SaaS products, serverless app architecture on AWS, TypeScript, distributed teams, remote work environments, and FinTech knowledge.
Requirements:
At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
Proficiency in JavaScript syntax.
Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
Familiarity with AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS.
Ability to design, code, test, and maintain applications effectively.
Experience working in a collaborative, remote-first work culture.
Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse teams.
