Description:
Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating worldwide hiring for businesses.
The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to develop new features, APIs, and enhance existing products.
Responsibilities include participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, ensuring a white-glove experience for customers, and contributing to all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, expert knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript syntax, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries like Sequelize, and AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS.
Desired qualities include excelling in application design, coding, testing, and maintenance, thriving in a remote-first work culture, embracing independence, taking ownership of projects, and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Extra brownie points for experience with SaaS products on major cloud vendors, serverless app architecture on AWS, TypeScript, distributed teams, and FinTech knowledge.
Requirements:
Minimum 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
Proficiency in JavaScript syntax.
Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
Familiarity with AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS.
Ability to design, code, test, and maintain applications effectively.
Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a remote-first work culture.
