Remote Backend Engineer (Node.js/TypeScript)

Description:

• Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating businesses in hiring globally.
• The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to contribute to product planning, development, and deployment stages.
• Responsibilities include developing new features, API’s, improving products, and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
• The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer, expert knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript syntax, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries like Sequelize, and AWS Services (S3, EKS, SNS, SQS).
• Desired qualities include proficiency in designing, coding, testing, and maintaining applications, thriving in a remote-first work culture, embracing independence, taking ownership of projects, effective communication, customer-centric approach, and genuine care for customers.
• Additional brownie points for experience with SaaS products, serverless app architecture on AWS, TypeScript, distributed teams, remote work environment, and FinTech knowledge.

Requirements:

• At least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
• Proficiency in JavaScript syntax.
• Strong understanding of SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
• Familiarity with AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS.
• Experience with SaaS products, serverless app architecture on AWS, TypeScript, distributed teams, remote work environment, and FinTech knowledge is a plus.
