Description:

  • Deel is seeking a Backend Engineer proficient in Node.js and TypeScript to join their global team dedicated to facilitating worldwide hiring for businesses.
  • The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Frontend Engineers, Product Teams, Designers, and QA’s to develop new features, APIs, and enhance existing products.
  • Responsibilities include participating in product planning from discovery to deployment, ensuring a white-glove experience for customers, and contributing to all stages of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer and expert knowledge of Node.js, JavaScript, SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, ORM libraries like Sequelize, and AWS Services.

  • Additional brownie points for experience with SaaS products, serverless app architecture on AWS, TypeScript, distributed teams, and FinTech knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Expert knowledge of Node.js and at least one other server-side language.
  • Proficiency in JavaScript syntax and database management including SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL, and ORM libraries like Sequelize.
  • Firm understanding of AWS Services such as S3, EKS, SNS, and SQS, with potential knowledge of GCP or Azure.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Software Engineer.
  • Ability to design, code, test, and maintain applications, thrive in a remote-first work culture, communicate complex ideas, and take a business-focused approach to software development.
